The Challenge
The Christian Firm challenges itself to stop the erosion of Christian values in today's America. As Believers in Christ, we cannot sit on the sidelines and watch as progressive modern society turns its back on the ethics and values that built our great country.
What is Post-Christendom Culture?
Post-Christendom is the culture that emerges as the Christian faith loses coherence within US society that Christian values and ethics have definitively shaped. This transition period defines a new cultural context involving the church moving from the center of the community, where institutions have been developed to express Christian convictions, to a declining minority with limited influence on US culture establishments.
What is the impact?
Imagine the impact on a world without Christian values and foundational principles like love, forgiveness, and compassion, which have profoundly influenced modern society. We no longer have to imagine; we are all living it! Selflessness and community care, inspired by the principle of "loving thy neighbor," fade away in our neighborhoods, leading to increased isolation, distrust, and violence. The lack of forgiveness escalates minor disputes into extreme conflicts of viciousness. Compassion, which drives many to aid the less fortunate, has dwindled because of corruption and greed, exacerbating homelessness or the opioid drug crisis. Such a shift from God has resulted in a more fragmented and individualistic society, increasing divisive trends and reduced community cohesion in parts of the U.S. today.
How do we stop the erosion?
We believe that in this era, to reverse the decay of Christian values, we need to get back to the basics of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Greater attention should be paid to learning rather than lecturing, participation rather than performance, and empowering as many people as possible to preach and teach to make disciples of all communities.
